Southwest Vacations - Lack of Transparency regarding Southwest Vacation Packages
CAUTION: Do not use this service unless you have been made aware of the commissioning fees! We booked Southwest Vacation Package for Thanksgiving 2017.
The Southwest Agent did not explain individual pricing for airline tickets, hotel, car or added event (hot air balloon) or commission fee. On Southwest Vacation Package website, it states that the commission starts at 2% . We were charged 7.4%. Southwest Airlines charged us $1,8,35.47.
The trip cost $1,710.11. (Keep and ask for receipts.) Southwest Airlines stated "this is how we pay employee salaries, for technology, for office space, etc". Southwest Vacation Packages is a PRODUCT they are selling for a fee. Obviously, Southwest is not proud of the way they are selling vacation packages.
Not once, did the Southwest agent mention the commission fee - BUYER BE WARE! Big difference in 2% and 7.4%.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
Monetary Loss: $91.
Preferred solution: Be transparent. Train agents to be honest. Put in bold, the commission fee charged. I want to help people not be taken like we were taken. We will not book Southwest Vacation Packages in the future..
